As an Artist I just let the beauty of what I love be what I do…

Artist | Actor | Producer
Antonio “Nino” Del Prete (ADP) is an Italian-born multidisciplinary artist, actor, and producer. Born in the shadow of Mount Vesuvius, just outside Naples, ADP was raised by a seamstress mother and an artist father who taught Art History. His upbringing in a large, loving Neapolitan family was humble—until his mother’s success as a fashion designer dramatically shifted their fortunes when ADP was twelve. This newfound stability opened the door to global travel, exposing him early to a spectrum of cultures and artistic traditions that would later shape his worldview and creative voice.
By seventeen, ADP was living between Paris and Mallorca, Spain, where his family had purchased a vacation home. In Paris, he studied fashion at ESMOD and theatre at the Acting International Conservatory, all while experimenting with street art. Though art was initially just a side passion, his discovery of a unique painting style ignited a lifelong commitment to the medium.
A skilled trumpet player, ADP’s artistic evolution took a significant turn when he discovered the Aboriginal Australian didgeridoo. His fascination with Aboriginal culture extended to their art, especially the dot painting technique, which heavily influenced his early works. Over time, he began blending this with stenciling—an homage to his street art roots—creating a hybrid visual language both intricate and deeply symbolic.
Today, ADP’s work spans a wide range: from meticulous, multi-layered hand-cut stencils that require the patience of a monk, to his acclaimed “Masters Remixed” series—irreverent, satirical reinterpretations of Baroque masterpieces that cleverly critique modern society while reintroducing forgotten classical artists to new audiences. His pieces, whether paintings or mixed-media installations, are united by a multicultural lens and a commitment to revealing the contradictions of our contemporary world. With humor and insight, ADP uses art as a vehicle for social reflection and moral provocation.
Fluent in English, French, Italian, and Spanish, ADP has exhibited widely across Europe and the United States, in both solo and group shows. His pieces “BacDonald” and “Holywood” were recently featured in the book Constructing Critical Consciousness: Narratives that Unmask Hegemony and Ideas for Creating Greater Equity in Education. He has also been honored with inclusion in the prestigious art reference L’Atlante dell’Arte Contemporanea, which lists 800 Italian artists who have influenced contemporary art.
In recognition of his contributions to art and education, ADP was personally received by Pope Francis at the Vatican, after being selected among the artists supporting the educational children’s charity, Scholas.
